Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Steven Efird and my family hails from the area encompassing Union and Towns counties dating back to the late 1800’s. My Union County High School graduation in 1979 was followed by a Georgia Tech Bachelor of Science 4 year degree in Applied Biology in 1983. Completion of my 4 year MD degree in 1987 at Morehouse School of Medicine then led to a 1 year Internship at MUSC in Charleston SC and a General Surgery residency finished in 1992 at Texas A&M. My wife, Kathy, and I then moved back to Blairsville and have made this North Georgia community our home since. We are blessed with two wonderful sons and daughter-in-law, as well as 4 grandsons (three of whom are living.) My interests include coin collecting, firearms, outdoor activities and family time. I thoroughly enjoy meeting new people and trying to get to the bottom of their medical concerns, especially those involving surgery. Problem solving has always provided me with the greatest form of satisfaction, and I eagerly look forward to assisting you with your surgical needs.
Thank you for entrusting us with this task; it is truly an honor to serve in this way!
